it is not always as a romantic twosome that you can make news on the screen. even sibling duos can be big hits on and off the screen. whether it is nazia and zoheb, shaan and sagarika or tusshar and ekta kapoor, their success stories have done tinsel town proud. in fact, the grapevine has it that ekta’s next venture could have tusshar in the lead! closer home, tollywood also has its successful sibling stories: prasenjit-pallavi and debasree-mrigen. the main force behind debasree roy’s stardom is elder brother mrigen roy. from managing her daily schedules, film shoots, and dance shows, mrigen has always been an integral part of her life. “i don’t think i will be able to do anything without dada’s help,� said debasree. even when she goes abroad with her dance troupe, dada manages it all, just as he is busy currently planning out her us dance trip next month. debanjali was the first film which saw her dada making his debut as a producer with debasree in the lead. the two are all set to repeat this act with prahar. “the film is different as the directorial team will consist of ftii graduates,� said mrigen. based on a dulendru bhowmick novella dash nambar bed, the film will have debasree playing a nurse. “it was a very challenging role,� gushed the actress. the film, completed in a record 15-day schedule of shooting in chinsura and a city hospital, is ready for a grand late may release.
